Mr Brian Rooney: knee

Brian Rooney is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Glasgow specialising entirely in surgery of the knee.

Following graduation from Glasgow University in 1993, he trained in Tayside and Glasgow before completing a knee fellowship in a leading knee surgery clinic in Grenoble in the French Alps.

He was appointed as a Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow in 2005 and maintains a busy and active NHS practice. Since his appointment he has been involved in the advancement of computer navigation techniques for knee replacement surgery and the development of unicompartmental knee replacements for arthritis of the knee.

Mr Rooney specialises in all aspects of knee surgery from arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction following sports injuries or trauma, to treatments for arthritis including osteotomy, unicompartmental and total knee replacement.
